About Nipmuc Youth Lacrosse Association (NYL) Our mission is to promote the sport and sportsmanship of lacrosse to the residents of Mendon & Upton, Massachusetts. To provide a fun, positive and enriching experience for all of the youth, parents, coaches and volunteers involved in the program. NYL fields both boys and girls lacrosse teams.
Participants range from Kindergarten thru 8th grade, playing in both 'non competitve' and competitive leagues. Players are divided into the following age brackets:
U9 = K-2nd grade
U11 = 3rd-4th grade
U13 = 5th-6th grade
U15 = 7th-8th grade
Games are played on Sundays in the Spring, with 1-2 practices during the week for each age group.
MBYLL(Boys) and Founders League (Girls) are the core programs for boys and girls from 1st grade through 8th grade to participate in inter-town play as part of the MBYLL (Boys) & Founders League (Girls), the governing bodies for youth lacrosse in eastern Massachusetts. We share and promote the MBYLL/Founders youth league philosophy; there are no standings kept, no league championship or playoffs. We play all players as equally as possible with the goal of teaching the sport and providing a fun experience for all involved. We police ourselves in the effort to provide an outlet for kids that has not been swept up in the pressure filled, win-at-all-cost mania that is too present in today's youth sports. All NLA participants, coaches, parents and spectators are expected to adhere to and abide by our Code of Conduct.
